Shea Concrete Products is excited to announce our 1st “Virtual” Technical Engineering Seminar that is available through our Podcast (The Precast Podcast) and will allow for an online library of technical seminars that professionals can access to gain industry knowledge and stay current with professional development credit hour requirements.

Presentation Title: Fibers in Precast Concrete

Presentation Summary: Understanding design objectives and limitations with utilizing steel and synthetic fibers in precast concrete components. We review the role Micro-fibers and Macro-fibers each play in precast concrete as well as some of the design considerations for each.  We also review cost analysis to consider in your bottom line.

Presenter BIO: Paul has worked in Civil infrastructure since 2005 with projects ranging from heavy highway and bridge applications, precast concrete, storm water and bridge applications, culvert analysis and repair, shotcrete tunnel and mining work, and large scale slab design/installation. He has worked with every Department of Transportation in the northeast. Paul has participated in the design and placement of hundreds of thousands of yards of concrete and shotcrete across the US and Canada. Paul graduated from Barry University in Miami Florida in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration.  Paul ran his own concrete and masonry company for two years, before working for Neenah Foundry, Contech, Cetco, and now Sika. With active participation in ACI he sits on 506B and 506 main, and participates in 544, 360, 350, 301k and 239. He is a member of ACI, SME, NPCA, NRMCA and PACA.
