SHEA CONCRETE RETURNS TO IN-PERSON EVENTS WITH TECHNICAL ENGINEERING SEMINAR #12

June 16, 2022 / News & Events

Our popular Technical Engineering Seminar (TES) series was created as an educational, in-person opportunity geared towards delivering value to the precast concrete industry and industry partners that work within it. These day-long seminars hosted at our state-of-the-art facility in Amesbury, MA provide an opportunity for local civil engineers, contractors, and specifiers to come together, learn, and make connections with other precast professionals in the community.

In 2020, we made the switch to virtual seminars to continue engaging with precast professionals and were grateful for the ability to host these valuable events, even during the face of a global pandemic. However, there is no true replacement for the opportunity to gather, in-person, to make connections, develop new skills, and hit new professional development milestones.

On June 1st, we were excited to make our long-awaited return to in-person seminars—and welcome our incredible community back through the doors of our Amesbury headquarters facility once again.

Our 12th Technical Engineering Seminar welcomed over 60 attendees to Shea Concrete Products, where they had the opportunity to earn 5-PDHs (and other specialized professional certificates) through four distinct presentations and a “hard-hat” tour of our LEED optimized precast concrete manufacturing facility. Presentation topics included Septic Tank Safety & Effluent Filters, Watertight Precast Concrete Onsite Tanks, and sessions presented by our partners at Recon Wall Systems and Easi-Set Precast Concrete Buildings.

“We really enjoy bringing people together to learn and grow. Education is a core value at Shea Concrete and we want to share that value with our local professional community,” said Hugh Scott, PE. “During COVID, we took our TES program online through The Precast Podcast—but having these events in person is really special.”

After our first in-person seminar hosted in over 2 years, we look forward to more in-person events in the future. Our next Technical Engineering Seminar is scheduled for September 2022. Stay tuned for details!
