The precast concrete manufacturer hosted a series of technical presentations at their newly LEED-certified facility.
Amesbury, MA—In 2018, Shea Concrete Products opened the doors to their headquarters facility on Haverhill Road with many important goals for the precast industry in New England. Part of that mission was to bring precast concrete professionals together to learn, network, and get an in-depth look at the precast manufacturing process—all at no cost of entry. Five years later, the team at Shea Concrete continues to keep that mission alive and well.
On May 9, 2023, the doors to Shea Concrete’s Amesbury headquarters opened once again to host a group of over 60 local civil engineers, contractors, specifiers, and other industry professionals for their Spring 2023 Technical Engineering Seminar. This no-cost opportunity was Shea Concrete’s 14th seminar to date, featuring a comprehensive agenda for attendees to earn Professional Credit Hours, connect with industry peers, and get an exclusive look at Shea Concrete’s LEED-certified facility.
“This seminar was the first we have hosted since we were awarded a Gold LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council,” said Greg Stratis, President of Shea Concrete Products. “Our team was proud to share that accomplishment with this group of attendees and showcase what a sustainable future looks like for the precast concrete industry.”
In addition to a hard-hat tour of the facility, seminar attendees were treated to technical presentations featuring a variety of guest speakers. Claire Golden and Harshraj Thakor represented the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Other presenters included NHDES Southwest Regional Inspector Scott Klose, Gove Environmental Services Senior Soil Scientist James Gove, and SeptiTech Director of Engineering and Regulatory Affairs Kevin Sherman.
With plans for their next Technical Engineering Seminar already in the works, the team at Shea Concrete is eager to keep this tradition of knowledge sharing moving forward.
