AMESBURY, MA – Autumn is a special time of year for the team at Shea Concrete Products. In Fall 2019, the precast concrete manufacturer hosted their 1st annual Precast Days Celebration, an event that brought people together to learn and network onsite at Shea Concrete’s facilities across New England. This event was also an opportunity to celebrate Shea Concrete’s 70th Anniversary!
The first iteration of this celebration began a tradition of outreach and education among Shea Concrete’s community. This fall, the team kept that tradition alive for a fourth consecutive year. Shea Concrete opened the doors to their state-of-the-art facilities in New Hampshire and Massachusetts at the end of October.
Shea Concrete hosted over 265 participants throughout the multi-day event. The facilities in Nottingham, Wilmington, Rochester, and Amesbury welcomed students, specifiers, engineers, contractors, industry partners and anyone interested in learning more about the precast industry. The final celebration, hosted at the Shea Concrete headquarters facility in Amesbury, MA, saw the annual event’s largest recorded attendance to date.
Notable guests included the University of New Hampshire’s Civil & Environmental Engineering School, the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, 92.5 the River radio, the Amesbury & Newburyport Fire Departments and a plethora of local food trucks providing complimentary refreshments for the participants.
Hugh Scott, P.E. at Shea Concrete Products, was pleased with this year’s turnout and the positive feedback from visitors. “Our guests appreciated that we host Precast Days manufacturing plant tours while running a full production schedule,” said Scott. “Instead of having the facilities shut down for presentation, our guests see firsthand how facilities operate during a normal workday.”
As the end of the year approaches, the Shea Concrete team has their sights set on more great things to come in 2023, including their 5th annual Precast Days celebration. “We’re grateful to everyone who joined us at this year’s event,” said Scott. “We look forward to hosting another great group in 2023!”
