ReCon Retaining Wall System provides design & installation flexibility for a backyard masterpiece

June 25, 2018 / Featured Projects

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Shea Concrete Products provided a large and very detailed retaining wall system with an interesting twist – a water slide, leading down from a tiered upper-level to a lower landing and into an in-ground swimming pool.

Featuring walls totaling over 10,000 Sq-Ft, this project began with construction starting in June of 2016 that is now in final stages with decorative stone work. The client chose the North Shore Granite Texture for their wall finish, as it matched the castle-style home above the pool feature very nicely, and at a significantly lower cost than actual granite slabs and blocking.

Holding back this much land while providing a stable base for the flush water slide required strong support and an aesthetically pleasing product finish. Our high-performing wetcast concrete retaining wall systems stand tall in New England’s active climate, and their durability allows all of our walls to remain a staple of our precast concrete product line.

Designed, produced, delivered, and supported by Shea Concrete Products, this impressive retaining wall project in Lowell, MA was installed by MDM Construction of North Reading, MA.

With project finishing touches now underway the retaining wall had to provide installation flexibility, quick access to additional product, and a knowledgeable support team. The ReCon Retaining Wall system is a great balance of strength, aesthetic beauty, and encompasses the installation flexibility needed to handle the most detailed projects. With the product locally manufactured and serviced from Shea Concrete’s four locations in MA and Southern NH the product is always available when needed.
